Various Rock Art
Remember look, photograph and never touch, leave as is for the future to enjoy, never share the exact location
If you must collect do it with a Digital Camera

San Diego County and The Anza Borrego Desert in many of these photos are the same Location as a good portion of The Anza Borrego lies within San Diego County

The two pictographs above, are from a rock panel in San Diego County. The panel is exposed  and has signs of more fade pictos. The first onr though has the benefit of a lip of rock above.

Two Yoni Petrogylphs same boulder. The first has obvious carving done to it. Yoni's are sometimes made by Carving into natural features, such as a crack in the rock,to make a Female fertility symbol.
Picture
Possible Yoni, Couple of miles from Valley of The Moon
Picture
Old Photo taken back in 2004, Yoni Stone near Indian Hill. The Yoni is in the central boulder.

Picture
Small red anthromorph though it seems to be sporting a tail. Anza Borrego Desert
Picture
The process of Desert Varnish, which covers this large rock and made it possible for the petroglyph to be scratched into it. The scratchin has penetrated the varnish and revealed the lighter stone below it. However Desert Varnish is an ongoing process and is slowly recovering the stone. The pictograph slowly fades away.
Picture
Rock Art, Anza Borrego, slightly enhanced to bring out the image. Reminds me of a crab, possibly a scorpion or something all together different.
Picture
Picture
Here's a rock art panel with some symbols on it in black. within 30 feet of it a strange rock formation, possibly enhanced to resemble what it does.
Picture
This Stone in The Anza Borrego had hints of Red and a Good alignment to the light, took some shots and augmented colors and got a hint of a Pictograph.

Though not a conventional piece of rock art this possible Elko Point 3500-1400 BP was spotted on an old Native American Trail, Southern California, it was laying right in the middle of the trail, took a photo where it layed and move on.
Picture
What looks to be a broken Projectile Point near Jacumba California. Possibly broken when it was being made.
Picture
An unusual Pictograph, seems to be modern, though the red underneath seems to hint at an older component to the panel. San Diego County
Picture
Possible Red skeletal with white figure behind, San Diego County.
Picture
This Cave was on Private Property but The Owner was friendly and we were hiking with a neighbor. The Pictographs appear to be of White Clay and are slow deteriorating away. Looking about traces of white clay were all about but nothing that was in the shape of these, my guess is there anthropomorphs. The Cave is aligned to the setting sun.

I apologize for not give out directions to most of my trips, trails change and I do not have the time to keep the site always updated. My hikes also span from the easy to the extreme, a lot of places do not even have trails, as well as extreme conditions. Some sites need to be protected as they are fragile and historically sensitive. So if you decide to hike some of these areas, do your research and know your limits, have the proper provisions .Every year many hikers die  from not understanding these Simple Rules. San Diego County and surrounding areas are diverse in climate and terrain. Remember if you do decide to Hike do your research, carry the essentials and do so at your own risk.  An alternative is to join one of the many hiking groups such as meetup or on facebook ,as well as other social sites. Not only is there safety in numbers but a pooling of knowledge.
